New from Linton Brick - The Linlite Lightweight Brick Arch
At only one third of the weight of a traditional flat arch, Linton Brick expect their new Linlite Arch to capture a large share of the specialist market for Lightweight Brick Arches. Barratt Homes and Persimmon Homes are two of the first customers to use this unique product.
Linlite Arches were conceived and designed to meet the needs of customers who wanted brick arches that were lightweight, durable, accurate and readily available as well as being affordable. Salford University helped with the research and development of this innovative product and Linton Brick have applied for patent protection. The lean manufacturing process uses laser cut steel moulds to accurately cast the cut arch bricks into steel reinforced lightweight foam.
Since Linton Brick launched their innovative Linlite arch in 2007 its impressive list of customers include the three largest housebuilders in the UK, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt and Persimmon Homes. It is the lightest brick arch available starting at only 10kg per linear metre.
The range includes:
- 215mm high Flat Arches
- 290mm high Flat Arches
- 102mm high Segmental Arches
- 215mm high Segmental Arches
It is available in any brick type and is supplied as a single unit in a variety of lengths to suit the opening. Typically it is available in 10-14 days.
As it is a fully cast product, the brick surface is perfectly flat and it is dimensionally accurate.
The integrated profiled riser for the Segmental Arches is a unique feature. It is accurately cut using CNC Water Jet technology and the profile conceals the lintel. Linlite arches are delivered on purpose made pallets and are protected with polystyrene corner protectors.
Linton Brick worked with Salford University Civil Engineering Department who helped develop the innovative Linlite arch. The lean manufacturing process has enabled us to remove waste from the production process and provide a cost effective product.
